I Reported a Violation for a Listing and Nothing Has Changed

We have an automated listing checker that does monitor rule violations, but those errors reported by members we consider just as helpful in maintaining the integrity of the MLS data. The process of reporting, correcting and fining members if no changes are made are all done in house by a staff member. This is the general process so you can know how your violation is processed and handled internally.

Initial Report
  1. When an initial report is received, it's tagged by the report date. Those dates are processed in batches and those dates are not always processed within the same week. We receive 200+ violations per day, on average, and a staff member reviews them manually. After the initial review, we'll determine whether the report is valid or not.
  2. If the report is valid, we'll then send out a violation. Once we send a violation, members are given a grace period without any intervention from staff.
Follow-Up
  1. After the violation has been sent and the grace period has expired, a staff member will give the member a courtesy call. After the courtesy call, members get 24 hours to make the change to their listing.
  2. Final notice after the 24 hours, staff will send an email that you will be fined by a specific date.
Fined
  1. If no changes are made, the member is fined.

Due to this extensive process, there is no need to report a rules violation multiple times. We can guarantee one report is enough to get the process started.

*Please note:  If we fine a member, there are additional grace periods for paying the fine and if they choose an appeal process.
